In my work, I travel the world, visiting different cultures and gaining much inspiration from beautiful art thru the ages. This painting was inspired by my studies of ancient Mexican artforms. There is an ancient Mayan temple in the Yucatan called Palenque that I hope to actually visit one day. The amazing and powerful reliefs found there were a jumping off point for this image. Two priestesses sit surrounded by a swirling, snakelike, watery energy. They listen deeply to the Feminine wisdom contained within the Moon and Her ever-changing cycles.
