 Created in Kauai at the same time as “Sanctuary”, this little painting reflects my continued interest in leaf/womb forms, as well as “squiggles” - my term for the swirly, flowing carved line that I have been experimenting with for many years now. The squiggles (or ribbons or threads...) not only serve as a way for me to release my energy, but also as a metaphor for the continual seen/unseen energy of Life. Here a young maiden blossoms and grows in wisdom and understanding.
