This painting was inspired by one of my visits to New Mexico, as well as my deep interest and respect for the Hopi people. Other influences are Georgia O’Keeffe (always!) and of course, my favorite season... Autumn.
This water bearer moves forward in the darkness with strength and focus, even as the winds of change blow thru and around her. She and the dying autumn leaf behind her are one. Facing her fears, she knows deep in her heart that rebirth always follows death.
