We guide you layer by layer thru the unfolding of your painting. Many Stream
students who believe they have no artistic ability are amazed at the artwork
they create. Their excitement ignites a creative fire which inspires them to
continue their artistic explorations at home.
In Stream we create personal works of art based on the ancient form of the
mandala. Mandala literally means - circle and center. The universal art form
of the mandala offers a wonderful experience of meditation... both during its
creation and afterwards in its viewing. Our mandala's blend many art
techniques - acrylic painting, stamping, stenciling, dotting, mixed-media
collage, blending, glazing, texturing, drawing and more!
Stream is a sacred art school dedicated to the nurturance of authentic
self-expression. Our motto is this wonderful and inspiring truth from the
mystic poet Rumi - “Let the beauty you love be what you do.” The guiding
principles of Stream are inspired by the Sacred Feminine tradition and the
Beauty Way. The essence of the Beauty Way is in living an authentic life
guided by the Love that blossoms in our heart, a life rooted in reverence for
our Mother Earth, a life devoted to the awakening of Wisdom, Beauty and
Compassion. In Stream, we seek to inspire and awaken our awareness of the
Beauty that surrounds us and is within us.
Other nectars of Beauty that we feed ourselves in Stream Playshops include
- circle sharing, song and drum, storytelling, myth and journey, poetry,
ceremony, chakra rainbow studies and the study of symbols, art forms and
and sacred teachings from around the world... For many of us, Stream offers
a much needed soul-nourishing time during our otherwise very busy lives.
Stream was birthed a decade on the Spring Equinox in 1999. My sister Karen
Russo and myself began meeting with a wondrous group of young girls in my
studio in the country. Many magical years followed in which we met one full
day each month to create, to play and to share our joyful spirits. For the
years 2005 thru 2007, I opened the doors of Stream to the larger community
of women in Eugene Oregon. We created in a wonderful temple-studio that
overflowed with inspiration. Deep and sacred moments were shared as
magnificent mandalas were birthed thru women who flowed within the river of
their inner visions.
Taking off for a year of travel in 2008, I am now back home and offering
Stream Playshops in Lorane, Eugene and other cities. Originally a school for
girls and women, Stream is now open to ALL vision-seekers and was renamed
in 2009 from "Sisters Together..." to "Souls Together...." to reflect our larger
vision and embrace.
