One of my earliest works, painted soon after I moved to Oregon. This woman 'asked' to be angular, which is very different from my typical curvilinear lines and forms. She has always felt south or central american to me. Many years later, when I was looking at pictures of the temple ruins at Machu Picchu, I was struck by the trapezoidal windows that mirror the shape of her figure!
